Days after being ousted from Fox News, Bill O’Reilly is back at it. He didn’t get an offer from another news network (and don’t expect one), but he still has his own fledgling website, BillOReilly.com. Along with plenty of plenty of tchotchkes available at his online store (including doormats!), Bill is now offering his No Spin Podcast for paying customers only.
Thursday, April 27th was the LAST day website visitors could listen to his show for free. Going forward, those who want to listen will need to be Premium Members – which comes at a price of $4.95/month or $54.95/year. What a DEAL!
Bill started out his final free podcast by saying,
“This is the last night that everybody can listen to the podcast, or the broadcast, whatever you want to call it, on BillOReilly.com. Unless you become a Premium Member, which is a simple process and we hope you do that, because it’s a lot of fun, and you get a free book, and so it’s not expensive and all of that.
So, I hope you consider it and sign up because we will be here Monday through Thursday with our audio broadcast, and we are working on making it a video display.
We’re going to expand the concept on BillOReilly.com, and maybe go into some other networks as well.”
Wait! Did he say a free book?! The deal just keep getting better!
Podcasters should all welcome Bill to the scene. His program, which I actually listened to, is awful. Bland, boring, and exactly what one could expect from a 20 minute monologue of O’Reilly. He does have a fan base, (a 60+ yr old fan base, but still) and as that fan base comes to the world of podcasts, it only increases independent podcasters chances of reaching a new (and old) audience. Welcome to our world, Bill!
