At what point is standing by a principle a bad thing? Assuming the principle itself is good, there is never a point on which one should sacrifice. Principles are important. Sometimes they lead us to conclusions we aren’t comfortable with. That’s the point though, isn’t it?
Also, the Texas shooter was able to buy his weapons despite having a record. He did so legally, only because the government failed to report his crimes. This is the government we have: inept, and never held accountable. How many people were fired after 9/11? Obviously someone dropped the ball! Who many will be held accountable for what happened in Texas? Don’t hold your breath.
