Senator Lindsey Graham is one of the most used tools for selling fear and war propaganda to the American public. The ironic thing is that if we use the actual definition of isolationist, Graham is far more isolationist than politicians he regularly disagrees with on foreign policy, such as Rand Paul.
In the case of Russia, for instance, Graham accepts the presupposition (without hard evidence) that the Kremlin was behind the poisoning of a former spy residing in Britain. To “punish” Russia, the plan is to make deals with other nations and steal oil business away from Putin, thereby isolating them and stunting their economy. The key word there – isolate.
He is also suspicious of Kim Jung Un and Donald Trump talking, saying that a denuclearization deal needs to be made fast because “North Korea is 9 months away from a nuclear weapon that could reach the United States”. Does this sound familiar? It is the same scare tactic used over and over by dull, one-track minded war hawks.
