Some of the new Trump appointees are clamoring to rip up the infamous Iran Deal signed by Barack Obama in 2015. Before anyone breaks the deal, however, we should ask a few questions. What was the initial intention behind the deal? Why was there a desire to stifle Iran’s nuclear capabilities? Has Iran held up its end of the deal?
First, the intention from America’s perspective was to stop Iran’s development of nuclear technology. From Iran’s perspective, the intention was to attain sanctions relief. Both of these ends have been met, so why are so many people, including the President himself, insisting on tearing up this deal and making a new one?
