Unanswered Questions After Wednesday Morning Shooting

There are many unanswered questions that pop up after a shooting incident. This morning’s attack in Virginia was particularly intriguing considering it involved a Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer as the shooter, and members of the Washington elite as the victims. Even so, the main stream media is missing the ball yet again. There are a few questions that no one is asking, so allow me…

Why is America Paying Congressmen $174,000/year to Play Baseball?

It’s unclear why men and women who have a single digit approval rating keep their jobs election cycle after election cycle. What is even more astounding is how much they make! The run of the mill House member receives a salary of $174,000 each year. Majority and minority leaders get bumped up to $193,400 each year. Paul Ryan, the Speaker of the House, gets $223,500 per year.

Big pay for not a whole lot of work. Most of these congressmen don’t actually read or write the bills they vote on. Instead the bills are written by lawyers and lobbyists and are reviewed by staffers. Congressmen don’t read bills. How could they when they’re too busy playing baseball?

Keep in mind that Congress hasn’t balanced the budget since the Clinton years. They haven’t even passed a budget in over a decade. (They pass “continuing resolutions”, but not new budgets.) Republicans, including the one who was shot, Republican whip Steve Scalise, have campaigned on repealing Obamacare, yet that is also yet to be done. Sounds like Congress has their plates full – yet they still find time to play baseball.

Tyson Foods Lobbyist Matt Mika

Why are Congressmen LITERALLY Playing Ball with Lobbyists?

Matt Mika, one of the other people shot today, is in critical condition, and we shouldn’t make light of that. However, Mika is employed by Tyson Foods Inc as “Director of Government Relations”; aka king of the lobbyists. This morning one of the most powerful Republicans in Washington was caught literally playing ball with a lobbyist for a meat wholesaler.

This sheds light on the fact that Congress at every level is completely 100% IN BED with lobbyists and special interests. Congress and lobbyists are friends. They’re buddies. Pals. These guys don’t just hang out on capital hill – they play games together. Dinner, drinks, the movies, baseball games. It’s all a big scam and most Americans aren’t paying attention.

Do “Thoughts and Prayers” Mean Anything?

Following the attack Democrats and Republicans both came before the microphone at the House chambers and made their statements. “We must come together” blah blah. “An attack on one is an attack on all” blah blah. Really? This is recycled, reused, reprocessed political garbage!

The best one liner from not just politicians but millions of people online is “our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families”. Is that true? Be honest. Do you really think that tonight Paul Ryan or Nancy Pelosi will kneel down next to their beds, bow their heads, and pray to God for the victims of this terrible shooting? Give me a break!

How Will Politicians Use This Event to Expand Government Power?

Politicians never let a crisis go to waste. They exploit it. Since we have a Republican controlled government, we can count on there not being any new gun control legislation coming down the pikes, but the GOP loves expanding government just as much as Democrats.

Mainstream media highlighted that the shooter had posted extreme comments on his personal Facebook page. These postings were a “sign” that something was wrong.

Over in Britain, Theresa May is calling for government to fine technology companies like Google and Facebook for allowing extremist content on their platforms. What defines “extreme” is up to the government. Count on increased pressure from government on Facebook and Google to help censure the internet.
